The Religion of the Status Quo

religionDown through history, the thing that has kept people from tapping into the kind of creativity that lifts mankind beyond his current boundaries is religion. By religion  I am talking about that set of man-made rules you are expected to follow, whether they work or not. This is the opposite of contagious faith which challenges the status quo and believes anything is possible. It’s this kind of faith that by its very nature is driven to question if the system really works. And if not, then it carries with it a belief that there is a better way. On the other hand, religion by its nature needs us to fit in. Religion encourages the status quo.

More than ever we are seeing our government establishing its own form of religion. The bigger government gets the more of our personal freedoms we lose, the smaller our vision becomes, suppressing the creative part of who we are. This is why in communist countries;  innovation takes a back seat to the false security of mediocrity.

Faith is the fuel for creativity. Faith gives you the ability to think differently; to see your world from a different perspective. Faith gives you the belief that every problem has a solution. It gives you the energy to discover a solution no one else has thought of. Faith gives you the courage to try one more time.

Ultimately, it is not enough to have faith in ourselves or our own ingenuity. Our faith must be in the One who is the ultimate Creator. You and I are His greatest creation. You are His ultimate masterpiece.  Allow your confidence in His promises to lift you above the mundane and predictable. Don’t allow religion to replace a vibrant trust in the One who offers you a life  full of wonder. Join the journey and jump into the adventure!
